What’s Happening? Let Me Sum Up
As I mentioned above, there is a lot of astrology happening this week and almost every planet in the sky is getting in on the party. Let’s go over the highlights:
Under the Aquarius Full Moon, the sun and moon both square Uranus in Taurus, known as a T-Square.
Mars is conjoining Jupiter in Gemini
When Mars and Jupiter come together, they will both form their own T-Square with Venus in Virgo and Saturn in Pisces
There are some interesting dynamics to watch within these configurations. For one, the full moon square is happening across fixed signs (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus), and the conjunction square is happening in mutable signs (Virgo, Pisces, Gemini).
Additionally, these events will also include 7 of the celestial bodies we track. And even the “non-active” planets will be present in active signs, Mercury in Leo, Pluto in Aquarius, and Neptune in Pisces.
In short, everyone seems to be up to something with this star energy. The big question is what?
And the true answer, dear reader, is that I truly do not know. There’s so much energy and momentum happening, it would be ridiculous of me to try to tie it up with a cute thematic bow for you.
The truth is, moments like this seem designed to remind us that control is an illusion. Order ebbs and flows. Chaos is a crucial element of creation.
So rather than try to boil it all down into an overly simplistic, digestible nugget, today I want to explore ways we can embrace moments like this in our lives, rather than resist them. Those moments where everything seems to be happening at once. Those when-it-rains-it-pours moments. Those times where we yearn for the neat and tidy explanations that don’t really exist.
Today, let’s look at what we can do and how we can be when the vibes are simply giving OVERWHELM.
Don’t. Rush.
I don’t know about you, but my first instinct when the energy around me dials up to 11 is to try to meet the tempo of the moment. The urge to multitask, to extend my working hours, to maximize my productivity beckons like the siren song of capitalism and people pleasing.
Yet when the speed of life picks up, I find my most effective strategy is to do the exact opposite. Rather than get swept up in the external momentum, I am far more effective when I opt out of the rush and set my own pace instead. One step at a time.
It’s not quite the same thing as slowing down; it’s simply not absorbing the often manufactured urgency of modern life and other people’s priorities. Yes, I am replying to your email, Cheryl, just not on your timeline.
The more you can talk yourself into letting each task or step take the time it will take instead of trying to get through it as quickly as humanly possible, the more centered you will fee.
Be Curious (Not Judgmental)
This entry, one of the most challenging for me personally, goes hand-in-hand with not rushing. Snap judgments are tempting because they are quick! They are efficient! And, when right, effective! I can trapped in them often precisely because I am quite good at assessment.
Except when I’m not. That’s usually when my speedy short cut promptly blows up in my face, sucking up time and resources and casting the shadow of how things “should have” been over how they actually are.
A big step in not rushing is allowing yourself and others the time and space to be curious. To ask another layer of questions before taking action. To open up the floor for one more round of feedback. Especially when we feel the pressure of time closing in.
Stop Trying to ‘Get It Right’
This is a message that’s especially poignant going into Virgo season (more on that next week) and it’s one of the places my clients most often find themselves ‘stuck’.
They’ll come in with some variation of “I just want to get this right.”
“What if there is no right answer here?” I usually respond to the consternation of the client. Sure, they know logically right and wrong are rarely simple, clear-cut, or totally binary options. But it feels like there is a right answer, somewhere, just out of their grasp.
And the opposite feels true as well — like there’s a WRONG answer just waiting to catch them by surprise, to surprise and shame them. This is the energy behind a lot of our anxiety about being wrong.
The best way to answer this energy is to embrace it. Embrace the possibility that your choices might not maximize happiness, satisfaction, or efficiency. Get comfy with the idea that not everyone will cheer you on. And come to terms with the absolute fact that you will make a choice now that your future self will one day have some big feelings about.
And none of that makes you wrong. Choosing wrong is an action, a moment in time. Not an ongoing state of being.
And That’s All She Wrote!
She, of course, being me. I hope you enjoyed the read — I had a lot of fun writing it for you!
